Free Standing Tarca® Systems are built using our unique patented Tarca®
Track. Its special raised tread and high carbon track is superior to I-Beams in strength, durability and consistency.
Capacities are available from 2 to 5 ton with spans to 60 ft.
- Require the crane support steel to be tied back to another structure
- Available in braced designs or completely free standing
- Heights under bridge from 10 - 20 ft.
- Runway support centers from 20 - 60 ft. increments.

Bumper Switch: A mechanical device which will prevent the passage of a carrier from a track entering a switch which is not properly aligned and locked to permit passage.
Carrier (trolley): An assembly with four or more wheels which runs on monorail track or crane girders, and supports a load or a hoist and load.
Clamp: A type of suspension fitting used to support tracks by pressure gripping an overhead structure rather than by welding or direct bolting to the structure.
Collector: Electrical contacting device providing a path for current flow from stationary conductors to moving equipment.
Coupling (splice): Mechanical device used to join the adjacent ends of track sections.
Electrification: The track mounted conductor system by which the moving equipment receives its electrical power.
End Stop: A device located at the end of a monorail track or crane bridge to prevent the carrier from leaving the track or crane bridge. Also at the end of each crane runway.
End Truck: An assembly consisting of a truck frame and four or more wheels which support the traveling crane girders.
Girder, Bridge: Straight-beam track member (two on a double-girder crane) on which crane carriers or trolleys travel; mounted horizontally and at right angles to the crane runway and supported by end trucks which travel on the crane runways.
Hanger Rod: A steel rod which, to together with other suspension fittings, is used to suspend the track from the supporting structure.
Head, Motor Driven: A motor driven carrier head which is supported from and propelled by the load bearing wheels.
Hoist: Hand or motor-driven mechanism for lifting or lowering loads.
Idler Head: A two-wheeled yoke assembly used in conjunction with load bars to form a carrier or end truck; both of the latter units have four or more wheels.
Impact Allowance: Additional hook load assumed to result from the dynamic effect of the rated load.
