Industry:  Distributor of Industrial Pipe Valves and Fittings

Application:  The loading and unloading of pipe product in the warehouse is a slow and cumbersome process.  It requires multiple trips with a fork truck as well as two or more employees to safely handle the loads. This process can turn approximately 3 trucks per day.

Solution: A 3 Ton Capacity Free Standing Tarca® System was installed to transport the product between the loading dock and storage bays.

The Problem: 

• Multiple trips with fork trucks between the loading dock and storage bays cause congestion and unsafe conditions.
• Two or more employees are required to handle the loads safely, taking away from other production areas.

Why Tarca® Was The Smart Solution:

• No costly footings were required - the support columns were spaced to match the building's current structural supports.  All columns and baseplates were designed to mount on a 6" reinforced concrete floor.
• The use of overhead transportation allowed the distributor to convert aisle space reserved for fork truck traffic to profitable storage space.
• Radio controls for the crane and hoist allowed employees to handle the pipe bundles while maintaining a safe distance from the load.
