Application:  Moving turbojet engine transmissions within a work cell environment.

Gorbel® Solution: : A Free Standing GLCS-FS-1000-10-23-10 Bridge Crane with two speed electric hoist.

The Problem:  They needed a smoother and easier operating crane to facilitate the positioning and the reassembling of components (can weigh up to 500 lbs.).

Alternatives:  An I-beam bridge crane could not achieve the tight positioning tolerances that were required in this application. The I-beam crane is three times harder to move and to position a load than a work station crane.

Gorbel® Work Station Cranes with enclosed track and DURACOMP 4® wheels provide effortless movement. The rigid runways with anti-binding end trucks provide exceptional positioning accuracy.

Why Gorbel Was The Smart Solution:  The customer chose the Gorbel® Work Station Bridge Crane with the aluminum bridge. The aluminum bridge is 40% lighter than a comparable steel bridge and is ideally suited for this application. The Gorbel® Crane System is 300% lighter than an I-beam crane system which makes Gorbel® Cranes easier to move.
