    Special. The number of people that I put in this category is small. Gorbel lost a special friend this week. Denett Pimkowski was diagnosed with cancer in 2003 and lost her valiant battle on December 27 at the young age of 56.

    My favorite holiday has passed. Thanksgiving proved to me again why I love it so much. A four day weekend of food, family time, football and fun.

These two beloved baseball teams were eliminated from playoff contention the night before.
