The line of Tether Track™ Fall Arrest Systems from Gorbel has now been expanded to include the following as standard items in the Free Standing Cantilevered segment:
- Standard spans up to 204'
- Groutless design for easy leveling
- Built-in Wind and Ice Load Design
- Taller Trolley Saddles
- Outdoor primer/paint combination to withstand elements
These features make the systems ideal for outdoor application like loading/unloading flatbeds or railcars, and are available in single or dual-track variations. Standard height range from 16' to 26' provides complete flexibility based on the work being performed.

As with all of the Tether Track™ products, these products feature an enclosed track for effortless movement of the fall arrest trolley. This allows the worker to keep the overhead anchorage point in a vertical plane while simultaneously permitting full range of motion.

Tether Track™ Puts Focus on Work Rather Than Fear of
Safety...
Bustin Industrial Products is a manufacturer of innovative safety access
equipment. The company fabricated a variety of products such as work platforms,
step stairs, and safety handrails.
Workers often were required to work on top of the work platforms as they were
building them.
The company knew that their productivity depended on worker safety during these
custom builds, so they worked with a Gorbel dealer to find the right solution
for their business.

The Solution: Tether Track™ Fall Arrest Ceiling Mounted
Monorail System
Bustin plant engineer Tom Tansits said, “Tether Track is a unit that I had seen
in publications, I know Gorbel has a good name in the industry for fall
protection systems, so that’s why we went with Gorbel.

How to Properly Store and Care for Fall Protection Equipment
This post contributed by: John Braun, CSP, CHST
Co-Owner, Signature Safety, LLC.
All workers wear fall protection in the hopes that it will never have to be
used. However, should a fall occur, it is critical that the equipment function.
For this reason, fall protection equipment must be inspected before each use.
Improper storage and care for fall protection equipment will increase the
likelihood that the next piece of equipment that your team picks up is
dangerously damaged.

The OH&S News
The Sweet Spot
by Kevin Duhamel
While companies big and small are always looking to become more productive, more
profitable, and more efficient, most successful companies share one common
priority: their employees' safety. In many industries, upholding that priority
comes with the need for fall protection. Yet with regulatory requirements to
meet and an often steep price tag, fall protection can seem like a daunting
undertaking. Rest assured, however, with the right knowledge, implementing a
fall protection system can easily fit into any company’s work flow and budget.
Legally, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration mandates that fall
protection be provided at: 4 feet in general industry, 5 feet in shipyards, 6
feet in the construction industry, 8 feet in longshoring operations, and any
height when working over dangerous equipment or machinery. Luckily, fall
protection comes in many forms, and numerous options can be considered to
protect employees.

Uplifted, The Gorbel Blog
Focus on Fall Protection
Falls are among the most common causes of serious work-related injuries
and deaths. Worker safety is an imperative, and developing and implementing a
fall protection program not only prevents injuries, but could save lives as
well.
The first step is determining whether or not fall protection is needed. The 4’
rule as mandated by the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OSHA) requires fall
protection be provided at: 4’ in general industry; 5’ in shipyards; 6’ in the
construction industry; 8’ in longshoring operations; or any height when working
over dangerous equipment and machinery. If you have workers working at or above
these heights in the circumstances described, then you’re legally required to
implement a suitable fall protection system.
