Shifts for Henrietta, NY :

8am - 5pm (Mon-Fri)

Description :

Partner with the Purchasing, Quality and Engineering to ensure relationship with suppliers are built, regularly assessed and improvements are created and implemented.

Responsibilities :

Supplier performance and improvements

  • Develop and maintain supplier performance scorecards.
  • Prioritize suppliers based on performance and drive improvements to reduce business risk.
  • Liaison between supplier and plant quality and purchasing team to address questions around inspection results or quality of product/services.
  • Lead corrective actions for non-confirming products in consultation with Material Review Board.
  • Assess supplier process and ensure adequate quality controls and process capability as appropriate.

Capacity validation

  • Lead assessment of capacity and quality (capability) of suppliers as agreed with purchasing team.
  • Define process for assessment and define tools and standards for Gorbel®.

Change management and validation.

  • Lead assessment, planning and validation of engineering changes to ensure seamless supply of quality product.
  • Communicate and coordinate any supplier requested changes through the Engineering Change process.
  • Work with suppliers and provide input and impact of proposed changes. Propose any alternatives that suppliers suggest for engineering teams’ consideration.

Collaboration: Work with purchasing, plant quality and engineering team to ensure projects and tasks are aligned and prioritized by business needs of Gorbel®.

  • Work with multiple suppliers to build strong partnerships.
  • Work with suppliers to identify areas of constraints that would impact Gorbel® and identify any help Gorbel® can provide if necessary.

Own overall Cost of ownership for each product delivered by the supplier.

Required Qualifications :

  • Areas of expertise desired for this role are (Expert in at least 1 area and knowledgeable in at least 2 is required):
    • Powder coating
    • Electrical, Sensors
    • Hydraulics, Mechanical systems
    • Welding
    • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing and advanced measuring equipment
    • Statistical analysis
    • Quality management systems
    • Change management
    • Measurement systems
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology from an accredited institution required.
  • At least five years of manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working with suppliers.
  • Lean or Six Sigma in practice.
  • Data analysis and ability to interpret data.
  • Systemic thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to coach others.
  • Savvy with Excel/Power BI/Tableau/Minitab or similar applications to help optimize data analysis effectiveness and effort.
  • Lead cross functional teams and ability to influence team members without direct authority.
  • Ability to understand organization goals and then independently drive planning and execution to deliver desired outcomes.
  • Ability to support multiple sites.
  • Travel: Ability to travel to vendor, client or other Gorbel® location. Mostly in North America. Travel up to 30%.
