Getting to Know Gorbel: Bob Kramer

Bob Kramer’s journey with Gorbel® started 30 years ago and is still going!

On October 11, 2018, Bob Kramer celebrated 30 years with Gorbel®! Bob is a Production Scheduler for Materials, which means that he schedules engineered and regular orders, moves jobs in or out, handles late order notices, and forecasts for S&OP tech, to name a few. Outside of the office, Bob participates in the ministry as a Jehovah Witness and spends as much time as possible with his kids! He also loves woodworking (see pictures below), landscaping with his tractor, and taking care of his five cats!

In his 30 years at Gorbel®, Bob has had a total of EIGHT job titles! He came to Gorbel® in 1988 as a Welder, and shortly after that he became an Engineering Fabricator, where he worked on prototyping, testing and documenting the tests for the new Work Station Crane line and the aluminum line. Then Bob became the Robotics Group Leader, and quickly became a Group Leader. As a Group Leader, he worked with transfers, receiving and inspection. After being a Group Leader, Bob added at the same time working as a Motorized Group Leader, where he worked on standardized layouts of panels and tractor drive jboxes, which lowered lead times for tractor drives without panels. From then, he worked in the office as a Buyer/Planner on 7-9 product lines, and then moved to a Scheduler/Buyer/Planner where he worked as a Scheduler for Tech, Main and Alabama, and a Buyer/Planner for 6 product lines in Main and AL. Finally, Bob became a Production Scheduler for Tech, which is his current position.

Bob has many fond memories from his time here at Gorbel®. He loves the comradery and the opportunities that the culture provides. One memory does stand out to him, though as he states in his own words: “The celebration of the Class A certification of Tech Factory, which gave me the honored opportunity to publically thank all those that made it happen by reading each of their Peer Recognitions that contained a nugget of a personal experience we shared in this accomplishment and what it contributed to Gorbel® mission planks.”

Bob focused a lot on the team-focused view that Gorbel® has, “It’s never ‘I’ or ‘me’. It’s ‘us’. The team at Gorbel®.”
