This spotting was sent into an employee of Gorbel by a friend who happens to be installing this new crane system. This Free Standing Crane System is in the Kitt Peak National Observatory in Tucson, AZ. The crane is used to install and remove spectographs in the observatory room which is environmentally controlled. The room has ten spectographs which are connected to a telescope by 5000 fiber cables. A spectrograph is an instrument that separates light into a frequency spectrum and records the signal using a camera.
