We just heard the news this morning, that the Gorbel-sponsored Victor High School Robotics Team were part of the winning alliance in the Greater Pittsburgh Regional FIRST Robotics competition. This qualifies them for the World Championships held in late April in St. Louis. Congratulations Team.

Two of our own employees, Enrico Sabelli and Aabhas Sharma, were involved with the team as rookie mentors. Here is what they had to say:

"It was an incredible weekend. The qualification round was a disappointment with some unfortunate luck that prevented our team from showcasing our robot's full potential. After 10 matches, we were ranked 35th of 52 and were ready to pack it in. Thankfully, the 1st-ranked Webster team recognized our potential and surprised everyone by choosing us to be a part of their alliance for the final knockout rounds. This "dark horse" selection paid off as our robot's defensive capabilities complemented their offence perfectly. We witnessed some great teamwork and learned many important lessons. As rookie mentors, Aabhas and I were thrilled to see such dedication and hard work from the students you've sponsored pay off in such a rewarding way.

Thank you for Gorbel’s continued commitment of inspiring others to defy gravity!"

Thanks to Enrico and Aabhas for being such inspiring mentors to the Robotics Team and to Gorbel!!
